Janine Vangool of UPPERCASE magazine requested an article on children's books.
"Can you give us three paragraphs," she asked, "on what it's like to illustrate your
own writing?"
I kept trying to corral 250 words into a couple of inches of column space, 
but a storyboard came out of my pencil instead. I wanted to show how tangled
and messy it is when I make a picture book. Here's how it ended up:
